Kili Awards categories out !

This year`s Kili Music Awards scheduled to kick off next Saturday and end in mid May has been set to have twenty-one categories.

While announcing the changes, the Chairman of Kili Music Awards, John Mhina, said the Lake Zone will start their competition on March 31 followed by the Northern on April 7 and Central and Southern zones on April 14 and 21 respectively.

In another development, the categories as per theKilimanjaro Premium Brand Manager, Oscar Shelukindo, are best female and male vocalists, best taarab album and single, song of the year, best kiswahili rhythms single band, best kiswahili rhythms album.

Others are best R & B single, best Tanzania Folk music single, best Tanzania folk music album and best hip hop single.

Other include best reggae/ragga rhythms single, best rap artiste, best East African album, best music composer, best song producer, best song writer, best Tanzania video producer, best zouk single, best zonal artist, best upcoming artiste, best collaboration single, hall of fame and best zonal artiste in tradition dance.

Shelukindo said fans will vote for their lovely artistes through email address nominate@kilitimetz.com or SMS to number 15522, or by filling a coupon to be put in ascribed newspapers.

Kili Music Awards hits its fifth year and islikened to other Grammies like the Kora Music Awards of South Africa, or Kisima of Kenya, US Grammy of United States, or Pearl of Africa of Uganda.

This year?s cities to be covered include Arusha, Dodoma, Geita, Mbeya, Morogoro, Moshi, Mwanza, Mtwara Songea, Shinyanga and Tanga.
